Before you upload
Does it really cost nothing to see an estimate?
Yes. The photo upload, the AI-assisted note, and the indicative figure are all free. You only pay if you decide to book an in-person inspection — and even then, that fee is credited against your final invoice.
What if I don't have a photo on my phone?
You can describe your garden in words instead — there's a link under the upload zone. Or pop outside, take a single snap, and come back. Honestly, the photo doesn't need to be a portfolio piece.
Will you spam me after I upload?
No. You'll get one message back with your estimate, and that's it unless you reply. No newsletters, no follow-up "just checking in" emails, no marketing list.
What happens to my photo?
It's used only to give you your estimate. We don't post it, share it, or use it in marketing. If we ever wanted to show a finished garden publicly, we'd ask you first.
About the inspection visit
Why is there an inspection fee at all?
Because a photo can only tell us so much, and a proper visit is real work — Gordon's time, fuel, and tools. The fee also means we only visit people who genuinely intend to go ahead, which keeps our prices honest for everyone else.
Is the inspection fee refundable?
It depends on when. Before the visit: full refund, no questions. After the visit but before you've approved a quote: it covers the visit itself and isn't refunded. After you approve a quote: it's fully credited against your final bill.
How long does the visit take?
Usually 20–40 minutes, depending on the size of the garden. You don't need to be home, but it helps if you can show us around or leave a note about anything specific.
About the quote and the work
What if the firm quote is much higher than the initial estimate?
It can happen — gardens hold surprises. If the gap is significant we always explain why in plain English. You're never obliged to proceed; your inspection fee already covered the visit, so you can walk away with no further charge.
Can I change the quote after seeing it?
Of course. Reply with what you'd like removed or added and we'll send a fresh version. Nothing is locked in until you tap approve.
What if it rains on the day?
Most work continues in light rain. For heavier weather we reschedule with you in advance, never on the morning. You're never charged extra for weather delays.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No, unless you want to be. We're happy with access through a side gate or a key safe. You'll get a "we've started" and "we've finished" WhatsApp, with photos.
After the work is done
When do I pay?
After the work is done and you're happy with it. The invoice arrives by email or WhatsApp once you've had a chance to look around. Bank transfer is preferred, card payment is fine too.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Tell us. The final invoice doesn't go out until you've signed off — if something needs another pass, that's what we do. No extra charge, no awkward conversation. We'd genuinely rather know.
Do you do regular ongoing maintenance?
Yes — fortnightly, monthly, or seasonal. Once we know your garden it's much easier to keep it looking right than to bring it back from neglect. Ask about a maintenance plan after your first visit.
